- Analyze and manage data for assigned panels (i.e. run, manage, analyze standard reports related to priority conditions, show rates, cancellations, patient care contacts, as appropriate) to determine trends, gaps and process improvement - Conduct a pre-visit panel assessment to pro-actively drive care team communication related to required service delivery during scheduled encounters. (i.e. huddles, pre-visit planning, recalls, follow-ups). - Manage daily patient schedule, assess availability and triage work-ins. - Oversee provider panels to ensure balance (i.e. monitors influx of new patients; resolves unassigned patients; tracks patient status – death, transfers top other care; manages internal patient transfers). - Coordinate quality improvement strategies with oversight from the clinic practice manager as directed by the Blue Ridge Health QI Department. - Maintain detailed knowledge of role of providers, support staff, and EMR documentation standards in order to understand and analyze clinical quality reports - Facilitate new patient education related to Medical Home concept, Patient Portal, Blue Ridge Health ancillary services as well as the Team Based Approach to Care. - Act as a liaison between patients, clinical teams, clinical operations, patient services, customer care departments, etc.

The EHR Specialist strives to meet the organizations goals of maintaining clinical systems and providing a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces costs, increases efficiency and enhances patients’ experiences. Responsibilities include: - Assist with maintenance of EHR/CPS (as well as third-party systems, i.e. patient portal, e-prescribing, lab interface, etc.). - Collaborate with senior staff, clinicians, and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, and evaluate all clinical software applications. - Provide support to staff who use clinical information system(s). - Troubleshoot and resolve software issues as well as software modifications and enhancements - Maintain current knowledge of the systems and applications through: attending training courses, reading information available in product announcements, participating in system updates, and subscribing to vendor web sites. - Build good working relationships and maintain a continuous interface with customers, vendors, co-workers and supervisor and utilizes these relationships to resolve issues and problems and explore opportunities. - Provide training to clinical staff and user clients on EHR and other third party clinical systems - Develop and utilize training manuals and programs to keep the end-users at the highest level of knowledge on the functionality of the system. - Assist the Clinical Data Analyst in running reports and/or collecting and organizing data into meaningful evaluations.

The Denial Management Specialist will investigate and resolve denials of claims. Responsibilities include: - Obtain explanation of benefits (EOB) forms from the Cash poster. - Review denial codes on EOB forms. - Identify what type of error has caused the denial. - Identify charges that need clarification or update. - Correspond with appropriate department, billers, coders and providers for any questions pertaining to the denial. - Research websites for additional information pertaining to the denial. - Ensure that any corrected codes are entered into the electronic health record (E.H.R) by the Coding Specialist. - Ensure that any corrected demographic information is keyed on the ticket by the Biller or Patient Access Representative.

The Recovery Service Manager is ultimately responsible for the oversight of Recovery Education Centers, including the clinical and financial integrity of the programs, with an emphasis on maintaining the model and recovery orientation.   The Recovery Service Manager directly supervises the REC and Team Leaders. Responsibilities include: - Providing routine, scheduled and unscheduled mentoring to staff, including Team Leaders, for the purpose of developing clinical competencies and insuring quality of care.  Mentoring should occur through multiple formats, including individually and in groups, in the centers as well as the community and/or student homes.   - Facilitating staff understanding of the REC model and program design in order to promote consistent and quality clinical care. - Developing and monitoring any standards of care, above and beyond the service definition, that are established for the service and communicated to staff, particularly those related to access to the service (walk-in access, extra support) and periods of increased risk for a service recipient. - Supporting the after-hours on call rotation including participating in the rotation and monitoring those who call frequently or with high duration calls. - Provide direct services as well as participating in ongoing training to stay current in the field and the service and promote best practice approaches within team.  - Being available for consultation on clinical issues as well as risk management issues  - Providing clinical supervision for licensure and delivering trainings on clinical topics as need arises and assigned by supervisor.

The Centralized Scheduler maintains and operates multi-line switchboard and paging system, provides general organizational information, directs incoming calls to appropriate clinical and administrative area(s), and schedules/re-schedules BRH patients for care appointments. Responsibilities include: - Responsible for answering telephone calls for patient requests and handling those calls according to current BRH designated workflows and organizational policies and procedures. - Schedules all in-house (follow-up) and future (phone) appointments via computer while directing same day appointment calls and walk-ins appropriately. - Responsible for correctly entering all required registration and insurance information on established and new patients into EMR registration fields. Verifies above information during each patient contact to ensure that information is current and accurate. - Upholds and abides by BRH confidentiality policies and procedures related to the handling and communication of patient information. - Direct patients accordingly to all different departments to ensure they receive the proper assistance needed (i.e. Medicaid, Finance, Medical Records and Referrals). - Greets patients, visitors, and guests via the centralized phone system. Determines nature of business and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
