What You'll Do:

The Contract Administrator is responsible for overseeing, tracking, and maintaining the lifecycle of various contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and organizational policies.  The Administrator will manage communication between internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities may also include auditing third party payer reimbursements through the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and updating payer reimbursement rates within the EHR.

  • Maintain databases for all third-party payer and operating contracts, including key dates, termination timelines, and responsible contacts.

  • Ensure timely review and renewal of contracts before expiration.

  • Build and maintain relationships with third-party payer contacts.

  • Collaborate with Credentialing, CEO, CFO, ACFO, and Patient Financial Services on contract matters.

  • Lead contract negotiations to resolve disputes and address concerns.

  • Assess the need for new third-party payer contracts.

  • Ensure all contracts comply with federal/state regulations and industry standards.

  • Coordinate contractual issues with Legal and Procurement teams as needed.

  • Audit the EHR to confirm accurate payer reimbursement rates and upload or maintain rates.

  • Obtain signatures on contracts and organize final documents in organizational software.

  • Communicate contract statuses and updates to leadership, Patient Financial Services, EHR Operations, and Communications.

  • Respond promptly to correspondence from third-party payers and other entities.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Health, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • Combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirement.
  • Two or more years’ experience in contract administration, particularly for third-party payers.
  • Excellent knowledge of various computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of commercial health insurance and contractual language.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment through teamwork, interpersonal skills, and personal initiative.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, employees, and the public.

  • Prioritize workload, work independently, and make decisions while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, and editing skills.

  • Apply knowledge of legal and contractual language while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

  • Communicate effectively, including raising potential issues to appropriate risk management staff.
