This position is office-based in Hendersonville, NC, with possible limited remote options and limited travel as needed.

What You'll Do:

As Communications Generalist, you’ll help bring the mission of Blue Ridge Health to life through compelling content, strong organization, and an enthusiastic public presence. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team where every day brings new challenges, opportunities to learn, and meaningful work that impacts lives.

 

This role blends creative, administrative, and logistical responsibilities — ideal for someone who is both dynamic and detail-oriented, and who finds purpose in promoting equitable healthcare access. Responsibilities include:

  • Write and edit clear, compelling content for newsletters, flyers, rack cards, social media, website, and more
  • Create and Design drafts for effective marketing materials (social posts, T-shirts, flyers, etc.) with minimal supervision. (Adobe design experience preferred, but not required. You do not have to have professional design experience.)
  • Post and schedule engaging content across multiple social media platforms
  • Draft press releases and letters and coordinate distribution to media outlets, patients, and community partners
  • Manage small marketing projects with printers, sign companies, and other external vendors
  • Coordinate special events and contests with the Communications team
  • Manage and maintain mailing lists
  • Track project timelines and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Manage calendars and help organize departmental priorities
  • Provide administrative support for the Communications Manager as needed
  • Represent Blue Ridge Health publicly at events or internally during clinic visits as needed (occasional day travel)
  • Collaborate respectfully and inclusively with staff across departments and locations
  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred; English, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and grammar skills
  • Confident communicator, comfortable speaking publicly and engaging with a wide variety of people
  • Organized and dependable with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Creative thinker with basic design ability (Adobe experience preferred)
  • Self-starter who can handle both independent work and team collaboration
  • Inclusive, friendly, and mission-driven, with a grateful heart and resilient spirit
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
