Overview

Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional to be part of our Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) Behavioral Health team.

What You'll Do:

This position will support SAIOP groups and individuals and consumers with case management activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate group and lead divided groups when the number reaches 12 participants
  • Facilitate morning and evening groups including groups that occur on holidays
  • Ensure there is gender specific information and offerings under the supervision of the SAIOP team leader
  • Support intake requirements such as the SAIOP checklist, NCTOPPS, orientations to SAIOP, person centered planning, and crisis/enhanced crisis planning
  • Provide case management activities including transportation, connecting with other recovery programs internal and external, connecting with higher levels of care, connecting with primary care and specialists, connecting to employment support, connecting with parenting support and connecting to social activities and social supports
  • Participate in graduations and celebrating of milestones
  • Provide skill building during individual sessions around relapse prevention, recovery planning, managing triggers and cravings, harm reduction, self care, and parenting skills.
  • Provide outreach and trainings about the SAIOP program as well as on basic recovery skills such as stage of change and harm reduction to the community with the guide of the SAIOP team leader
  • Participate in contacting those on the extra support list and following up with SAIOP participants who miss SAIOP, need extra support or are stepping down from services
  • Help to plan and organize group curriculum.
  • Support in drug screenings and coordination with the office of probation.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Mental Health Professional Required.
  • Preference for Peer Support Specialist, Preference for Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • Demonstrates an ability to utilize an array of engagement and motivational strategies to support individuals in the early stages of recovery.
  • Demonstrates the ability to share information about mental illness and addiction in a manner that is consistent with the individual’s learning capacity and style.
